Communications Technology’s 2007 System of the Year is Cox Communications in Orange County and Palos Verdes, CA. CT Editor Jonathan Tombes helped honor the system at the annual Cable-Tec Expo Awards luncheon in Orlando. In this video, Jonathan interviews Cox OC/PV Supervisor Network Planning and Engineering James Garcia, who was on hand in Orlando to accept the award, and Susan George, SVP of worldwide sales for Camiant, this year's award sponsor.
What makes Cox O.C., as it's commonly known in the industry, worthy of CT's highest honor? Besides being a company (and industry) leader in telephony, it's an innovator for testing and development—one of several criteria that guides CT's editorial team in this awards program; an outstanding contributor to Cox's corporate upgrade success; a trailblazer in business services; an incubator for best practices in network data-mining techniques; and an exemplar for a metric that increasingly bears watching: employee satisfaction.
As Communications Technology notes in its August story on the system's achievements, "a leader at Cox is a leader in the industry at large."
