‘Game Changer’—Netflix Deal Complements Disney Production Strategy
Looks like Netflix and Mickey have become BFFs. Calling Tues’ streaming rights deal with Disney a “game changer,” Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos said at the UBS Media & Communications conference Wed that having access to Disney assets “is going to be a huge step forward for our programming.” The deal won’t hurt traditional TV viewing because Netflix streams around 1bln hours of content every month, but networks like Disney still managed to grow, he said.
