21. The Great Wireless HopeJohn Garcia Title: President, the Sprint Nextel wireless venture with Comcast, Time Warner, Cox and Advance/Newhouse Age: 53 Years in Wireless Industry: 19 Why him? Welcome to cable, Mr. Garcia. - MCA I knew the cable industry was for me when: “I realized I needed to stop stealing HBO.” In my free time, I like to: Fish My most embarrassing cable moment was: “Learning MSO meant cable company.” Favorite restaurant: Blanco Café in San Antonio, Texas. “Best Mexican food.” Favorite city: Austin, Texas. “Best live music.” Three things I would take with me to a deserted island: “HDTV, a long piece of coaxial and my Sprint phone.” I wish cable would: “Go with me everywhere.” Favorite piece of tech: “Photoshop. It’s my other hobby. These fish in the photo are really much smaller…” Click here to return to the 2006 CFAX 100 List |
