If Time Warner Cable is the industry’s poster operator for interactive television, then ICTV is its poster vendor. The Los Gatos, CA-based vendor hit the winter CableLabs conference in Colorado Springs this past March to demo its ActiveVideo Mosaic platform. The pitch: that Mosaic can “tile” programming into a six-way split screen experience, allowing operators to display TV and Web content side by side for a customizable, personalized experience by their subscribers (Kewl!) It also supports delivery of Web-style targeted ads that lead directly to transactions to help ops monetize the ITV experience. ICTV now boasts deals with not only Time Warner and Comcast but also Hong Kong’s bleeding-edge PCCW for its ActiveVideo product. - SB Jeff Miller What is your favorite word? Done.
