64. Operations OverlordDave Watson Title: EVP, operations, Comcast Age: 48 Years in Industry: 20+ Last Year: NR Why Him? Dave Watson isn’t one of those execs who constantly seeks publicity or attention. But behind the scenes, he makes sure that Comcast’s overall operations run smoothly amid a sea of competitors that force Comcast to remain nimble despite its large size. Watson has also done a stellar job integrating new Comcast services such as VOD and VoIP into the mix. Overseeing operations at a company with so many balls in the air can’t be easy. But Watson does it with a certain finesse that few could match. - MG Biggest cable surprise of 2006: “Winning the Ad Age Campaign of the Year Award for our Comcastic campaign.” My most embarrassing cable moment was: “The first time my headshot ran in a cable trade article, there was a formatting problem that made my head look considerably larger than it is, which prompted several calls from concerned colleagues.” Favorite restaurant: “Raos (even though I’ve only been there once….)” Favorite city: Philadelphia Favorite movie: “The Godfather,” “The Godfather: Part II” Favorite sports team: “The Tredyffrin Tornadoes (my 12-year-old son’s soccer team).” Click here to return to the 2006 CFAX 100 List. |
