But it’s just some of those who have touched all of our lives in many ways. November 26, 2006 Warren Communications founder, long-time editor Albert Warren died of a stroke, aged 86. November 20, 2006 Broadcasting & Cable’s John Higgins, who had been chosen to be in this year’s 100, died of a heart attack, aged 45. October 25, 2006 NCTA associate general counsel David Nicoll passed away Wed evening after a long battle with illness. October 9, 2006 Former director of New York City’s Bureau of Franchises Morris Tarshis died, aged 87. He ran the office from 1965 until 1986. September 26, 2006 Former NCTA as vp, science and technology Wendell Bailey died from cancer. Bailey spent 17 years at NCTA. September 17, 2006 Nick Murdocca, brother of Mediacom’s Rocco Commisso and Italia Commisso Weinand, passed away after a lengthy illness. September 15, 2006 Sol Schildhause, the 1st chief of the FCC’s Cable TV Bureau and industry advocate, died in his sleep, aged 89. September 2006 HDNet’s exec producer for news and doc programming David Green died of a heart attack, aged 60. August 29, 2006 Cable Pioneer Xenophon “Xenny” Mitchell died, aged 88. July 28, 2006 Cable veteran and former Cox exec Henry Harris passed away. July 16, 2006 Cable Pioneer Robert Tarleton died, aged 91. May 12, 2006 Kevin Lee Rice, a former svp with Heritage, died following open-heart surgery, aged 52. April 17, 2006 Scott Brazil, exec producer of FX’s “The Shield,” died from complications to Lou Gehrig’s disease and Lyme disease, aged 50. March 9, 2006 CAB founder Bob Alter died, aged 77. Alter served as the assn’s first pres/CEO from 1980-1991. March 2006 Cable and broadcasting veteran Keith Green of Sportslink LA passed away. February 4, 2006 CATV Service pres and owner Margaret Walsonavich passed away, aged 84. February 1, 2006 Former Cable One area manager Ray Clemons passed away, aged 70. February 2006 John Martin, creator of Canada’s MuchMusic, died of esophageal cancer, aged 57. January 25, 2006 Cable Pioneer and salesman extraordinaire Mason Hamilton died from back surgery complications. January 18, 2006 Cable Pioneer and CEA svp Ed Frazier died after a brief but noble battle with leukemia, aged 57. January 4, 2006 Jack Arenstein, the father of CableFAX/CableWorld editorial director Seth Arenstein, passed away. December 21, 2005 Cable Pioneer and Galaxy Cablevision founder Tommy Gleason passed away, aged 84. December 8, 2005 Cable pioneer/longtime CEO of Harron Comm Paul Harron Jr died after a battle with lung cancer, aged 63. November 28, 2005 Disney Channel founder E. Cardon Walker died, aged 89.
