For more than thirty years, Dave Keefe has built, acquired and franchised dozens of cable systems here in the United States and around the world, including Brazil, Hong Kong, Hungary and Poland. Dave has led operations supporting millions of customers, thousands of employees and expansive service areas. In 2003, he co-founded Atlantic Broadband and today serves as its Chief Executive Officer. 

Keefe began his cable career in 1972 at Cox Cable. In 1979, he was among the founding group at American Cablesystems where he and his team franchised, acquired, built and operated a systems serving 25 cities in Massachusetts. By 1985, American served 125,000 video customers with revenues of $33 million in New England.  In late 1985, Keefe moved to Los Angeles where American acquired six contiguous cable assets in the LA market passing 950,000 homes. While in Los Angeles, Keefe and his team expanded the network to serve 500,000 new homes passed.  Between 1986 and 1991, the LA group improved EBITDA from a negative $13 million to a positive $45 million and more than quadrupled its customers. American was sold to Continental Cablevision in 1988.

In 1993, Keefe was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Wharf Cable Hong Kong. Wharf was a greenfield operation serving the territory. Keefe oversaw the construction of one of the world’s first HFC platforms, designed to support both digital and voice services. He and his team hired and trained over 1,000 employees within the first 6 months of operation and constructed network passing one million homes in 14 months. Wharf installed over 100,000 customers within the first year of operation. Keefe negotiated the cable license and housing entry release for 800,000 units of Hong Kong public housing.
