CBS Goes Digital. CBS Corp. and Amazon.com announced a deal that lets Amazon Prime customers stream TV shows from CBS’s library at no additional cost. Approximately 8,000 movies and TV shows, including full seasons of 18 CBS programs, are available to Amazon Prime subs. This summer, Amazon’s streaming service Amazon Instant Video will get access to CBS content.
 
Murdoch Saga. After being assaulted yesterday with shaving foam during his testimony before a UK Parliamentary Committee, Rupert Murdoch continues to battle accusations. A parliamentary panel investigating the scandal issued a lengthy report blasting previous police investigations and News Corp.’s response to them. For the full report go here: Meanwhile Prime Minister David Cameron defended his government review of the proposed News Corp BSkyB deal. Splice and Dice. BigBand Networks, Inc. says AT&T Services, Inc. will begin deploying its BigBand Media Services Platform, which is able to splice local ads into national program feeds without decrypting and re-encrypting, through IP-based U-verse TV in the second half of 2011. According to first quarter results, U-verse TV serves 3.2 million customers. BigBand’s ad solutions supported more than one billion ad transactions for North American cable ops in the last year, the company recently announced.
