CableFAX executive editor Mike Grebb recently met with Discovery Communications Inc. president and CEO David Zaslav at DCI headquarters in Silver Spring, MD.
In part 2 of their interview, Zaslav—who joined DCI from NBC Universal in January—discusses recent restructuring efforts, getting the TV networks back "on brand" and the proposed ownership change that entails Cox Communications giving up its stake in DCI in return for a buy-out that includes taking over the Travel Channel. If approved, this deals leaves Liberty Media and Advance/Newhouse with ownership of DCI.
And don't miss part 1 (click here) of this interview, in which Zaslav discusses his big picture strategy for the company and its flagship brands and why spending $50 million on "going green" makes sense.
