— OTT provider Azuki Systems and Microsoft Mediaroom partner ES3 are showing the TumbleBooks TV app at CES, a reading service for children powered by the Azuki Media Platform that lets service providers deploy Microsoft Mediaroom to generate incremental subscriber revenue via monthly subscriptions along with ad-display areas for VOD upsells or sponsored ads. Family members using TumbleBooks TV in the living room can resume playing the video on their tablets from the spot they left off, anytime anywhere.

Verizon is teaming with Motorola on a next-gen FiOS TV media server, launching a Motorola Medios+ VMS1100 media server and a Motorola Medios+ IPC1100 IP-based set-top box. The new media server reportedly is the showpiece of a Motorola Medios+VMS platform supporting as many as five IPC1100 clients on separate TVs, letting viewers in the same house to watch what they want at the same time.

The service already is live with an unnamed “major” cable operator.
