Bigband Reaches Milestone

BigBand Networks shipped more than 70,000 Edge QAMs in 2006. The company's edge QAM platforms support advanced digital video and data services, including M-CMTS based on the CableLabs specification and commercial deployments of SDV. The company's M-CMTS has deployed with Dutch cable operator Multikabel, and three Japanese cable operators are rolling out data services that can achieve download speeds up to 120 Mbps based on the company's M-CMTS solution. BigBand is demonstrating its Universal Edge QAM solution at Expo, with the company's Edge QAM platform sharing capacity among SDV, VOD, network-based DVR and DOCSIS high-speed data.
