Report: WDM Gear to Fuel Optical Growth to 2012

According to Dell'Oro Group's "Optical 5-Year Forecast Report," total worldwide optical transport equipment revenue is forecast to exceed $13 billion in 2012, in large part because of strong growth in the WDM segment. The report forecasts WDM equipment by port and wavelength shipments. In the DWDM long haul segment, it forecasts 40 Gbps wavelengths to become a significant portion of DWDM long haul sales, contributing almost 30 percent of revenues in 2012.
