Gehua Cable Covered Beijing Olympics with Bigband

BigBand Networks has announced that Gehua Cable provided coverage of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics Games using BigBand's Broadband Multimedia-Service Router (BMR). BigBand's BMR platform continues to be used today in Gehua's digital TV network headend system to deliver video content to 1.7 million Beijing residents.

Gehua first began installing the BigBand platform in its cable headends in 2006 and now has a dozen BMRs deployed across its network. Gehua plans to expand the digital video services it offers its subscribers to include more HD programming, broader choices in on-demand titles, customer interactivity and more.
