Acme Packet Chosen in Canada, Korea
MTS Allstream, a Canadian communications provider, has deployed Acme Packet's Net-Net session border controllers (SBCs) to support its hosted VoIP services for small-to-medium businesses (SMBs).
MTS Allstream offers flexible telecommunications solutions using its pan-Canadian fiber-optic network. As part of a multi-vendor solution, Acme Packet SBCs are deployed at the access border, providing security and control for MTS Allstream's Hosted Phone System. The Hosted Phone System is a feature-rich VoIP-based PBX that is hosted by MTS Allstream. The system uses a business-grade online portal that allows users to personalize their communications with Find Me call routing, remote access to the system and many other advanced business calling features.
In other Acme Packet news, Korea Cable Telecom (KCT), a consortium of seven cable operators providing VoIP services throughout Korea, has expanded its deployment of Acme Packet Net-Net SBCs to satisfy subscriber growth. Acme Packet was initially selected by KCT in 2006 to support its hosted VoIP services launched at that time. KCT is using Acme Packet's SBCs to deliver secure VoIP services to its base of 12 million cable subscribers in Korea.
