Comcast Brings Wideband to Colorado

Comcast continues its roll-out of DOCSIS 3.0 wideband, announcing that its two fastest tiers are immediately available in more than half of the Denver metro area. The company expects wideband to be available in the remaining metro area as well as southern, northern and mountain areas later this year.

The Extreme 50 tier offers up to 50 Mbps of downstream speed and up to 10 Mbps of upstream speed at $99.95/month. The Ultra tier offers up to 22 Mbps of downstream speed and up to 5 Mbps of upstream speed at $62.95/month. In addition to the new speed tiers, Comcast also is increasing speeds for most of its existing customers.

Comcast competes for high-speed Internet customers in Denver with Qwest, which recently announced 40 Mbps in some areas of Denver. (For more, click here).
