ActiveVideo to Showcase Cloud-based Interactivity

ActiveVideo Networks will demonstrate interactive experiences on both next-generation CI+ (Common Interface plus) enabled televisions and existing set-top boxes using its cloud-based approach at IBC in September.

The exhibit will show how processing in the network "cloud" can dramatically increase the interactive capabilities of the new CI+ standard and provide a uniform environment across CI+ supported TVs, digital and IPTV set-top boxes and broadband-connected CE devices.

The demonstration will feature intuitive VoD menu-ing, rich navigational mosaics, brand-name channels and other services.

The exhibit will showcase for the first time the full breadth of the combined solutions of ActiveVideo Networks and Avinity Systems BV, a Netherlands-based interactive TV provider that has been acquired by ActiveVideo.

"Service providers and programmers are seeking ways to deliver compelling services to the installed base of set-top boxes, as well as to the CI+ generation of televisions that is now coming to market," said Ronald Brockmann, managing director, Europe for ActiveVideo, in a statement.
