RCN Metro to Reach Toronto

RCN Metro Optical Networks has announced plans to extend its network from New York City into Toronto, Canada. Beginning in May, RCN Metro will offer the region low-latency Ethernet services including switched Ethernet, "burstable" Ethernet and full-rate up to 1 Gigabit Ethernet.
 
"After New York and Chicago, Toronto represents the third largest financial services center in North America," said Felipe Alvarez, president of RCN Metro, in a statement. "The city of Toronto is home to many of the world's top banks as well as Canada's largest banks."
