The N.J.-based Aricent Group has added OpenFlow and Software Defined Networking (SDN) software frameworks and services to its wireline communications portfolio; OpenFlow Client software and product lifecycle services help telecom equipment manufacturers (TEMs) deliver the next-generation of OpenFlow and SDN products. In addition, Aricent joined the Open Networking Foundation (ONF), a non-profit consortium dedicated to the promotion and commercialization of SDN. OpenFlow reportedly provides the foundation for SDN, and its architecture is helping to drive adoption of these new networking standards and concepts.
