PPC To Acquire Evolution Broadband

PPC, a maker of telecommunications connectors, has agreed in principle to acquire Evolution Broadband, a supplier of home distribution and subscriber drop systems for the North American cable and telecommunications market.

PPC will leverage the sales and new product development strengths of both companies to deliver solutions from both product lines and to continue providing responsive sales and service across its newly expanded customer base.

All PPC and Evolution Broadband customers will have access to the combined product portfolios of both companies.

The deal is expected to be closed within the next 30 to 60 days.

"As a long-time PPC partner, Evolution Broadband has served and complemented PPC's own sales force by winning successful sales deals, transitioning customers to our product line, and providing excellent service," said PPC President John Mezzalingua.

Evolution Digital is not part of the PPC acquisition and will remain a separate entity. Evolution Digital will continue to focus on selling and developing products designed for cable operators to convert their systems to an all-digital video platform.

Evolution Digital will continue to be managed by Chris Egan and Brent Smith and will maintain all current partnerships with TiVo, Conax, and various manufacturing partners.
