EchoStar Chooses SRS Labs To Deal with Loud Commercials

EchoStar has renewed its multi-year contract with SRS Labs to license SRS TruVolume volume-leveling technology within multiple set-top-box models. TruVolume allows users to enjoy TV content, free of the annoying volume fluctuations that are normally encountered when switching between sources or channels, and when programming transitions to commercials.

“By realizing the significant value of addressing the number-one complaint among TV viewers, EchoStar pioneered the inclusion of our TruVolume technology last year as an available feature of their set-top-boxes in order to deliver consistent, spike-free volume at the receiving end of the programming,” said Allen Gharapetian, VP of Marketing for SRS Labs, in a statement.

SRS says its TruVolume can be found in over 100 million consumer electronics devices worldwide, including TVs, set-top-boxes, soundbars and PCs.
