Danish Op Bypasses CMTS for IPTV

The Danish A+ Group will use GoBackTV's GigaQAM IP to offer IPTV services, according to Menlo Park CA-based GoBackTV. "The GoBackTV CMTS-Bypass solution allows us to extend our FastTV IPTV service to cable operators as well as our traditional fiber and DSL customers," said Henrik Lind, A+ CEO, in a statement. Trials conducted over the summer verified that GoBackTV's technology interoperates with existing milddleware, set-top boxes and conditional access. GoBackTV President Dave Baran stated that his company's solution allows operators to deploy IPTV "without wasting valuable upstream channels, and using economical DOCSIS 1.1 and 2.0 cable modems."
