Integra Telecom Lays More Fiber
Integra Telecom is expanding its fiber-based network by funding 52 capital projects of which 31 will be fiber expansions into new buildings and 21 will be capacity augments at existing on-net sites. In total, Integra says it now has more than 1,700 fiber-fed buildings and 5,000 miles of high-speed long-haul fiber.
With Integra's fiber network, customers can access speeds from 5-10 Mbps. Services on the network include:
- MEF Certified Ethernet;
- Virtual Private Network (VPN);
- Session Initiation Protocol (SIP); and
- Dedicated Internet Access (DIA).
The recently added buildings are primarily located in the metropolitan areas of Portland, Ore., Seattle, Wash., Phoenix, Ariz., Boise, Idaho, Sacramento, Calif., and Salt Lake City, Utah.
These additions are part of Integra's year long, $52 million investment to expand its fiber network and provide both wholesale and retail customers with carrier-class, high-bandwidth products and services.
