Evolution Digital Works with TiVo on Whole Home Solution

Evolution Digital demonstrated a couple of new technologies at last week's Cable-Tec Expo in Atlanta. The company showed its Liberty HD universal digital transport adapter (uDTA) wall plate device. Liberty is a HD uDTA designed in a semi-permanent installation form factor that affixes to the wall in place of standard F81 coax wall plates. It is HD/SD MPEG-4/2, Motorola and Cisco compliant, and supports multiple tiering and RF4CE technology.

"There is a subscriber base that doesn’t want a box added to their TV," said Brent Smith, president of Evolution Digital, in a statement.

Evolution Digital also demonstrated a whole home solution with the TiVo Premiere Q and TiVo Preview, as well as the TiVo Premiere DVR with Clearleap’s Stream on Demand application.

TiVo Premiere Q is a four-tuner CableCARD gateway with a 500GB hard disk allowing up to 75 hours of recorded HD programming. It has an internal MoCA bridge support for connecting the TiVo Premiere Q to the home network. The TiVo Preview, a single-tuner CableCARD internally supported Ethernet and MoCA and USB set top, is perfect for deployment in either non-DVR households, or in the bedroom as complement to the TiVo Premiere Q in whole home deployments.

TiVo has teamed with Clearleap and Evolution Digital to create a low-cost IP on demand solution for independent cable operators. 

Clearleap’s Stream On Demand solution enables operators to tap into Clearleap’s search, intuitive browse, and improved discovery of advanced video services through a white label application branded with operator’s own look and feel. Clearleap’s end-to-end, cloud-based platform allows operators to deliver a complete video service over existing broadband networks without dependencies on legacy video infrastructure.
