DirecTV Expands HD Coverage

DirecTV is now offering local HD programming to customers in the Myrtle Beach-Florence, SC; Champaign-Springfield-Decatur, IL; and Burlington VT-Plattsburgh NY designated market areas. DirecTV now offers local HD broadcast channels in 94 cities, representing nearly 82 percent of U.S. TV households. The company plans to add 27 more HD local channel markets by the end of 2008, for a total of 121 cities.
