Huawei Notes Role in Cox Trial
Huawei today noted its role in the successful completion of voice calling and high definition video streaming over wireless networks using fourth generation (4G) Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology for Cox Communications.
Cox announced the completion of its service trials yesterday and expanded upon Huawei’s role in today’s announcement. (For original news, click here.)
“Our collaboration with Huawei has enabled us to achieve monumental strides in the trial,” Stephen Bye, Cox VP of wireless said in a statement. “Huawei’s dedication and support, the understanding of our requirements and ability to meet our aggressive project milestones were key factors in selecting them as a partner for the trials.”
Bye said the trial results were encouraging and further validated Cox’s decision to “pursue 4G based on LTE, specifically the 3GPP Release 8 standard.”
