WWE is not only about amazingly hulking bodies (rarely found in nature) slamming other amazingly hulking bodies to the mat. The WWE has a soft, caring side, too. Seriously. WWE quietly spends a good deal of time and money entertaining our troops in Iraq, energizing school children about the importance of reading and urging young adults to vote.
It's this last activity that is the subject of our photo below, which shows WWE Superstar Shelton Benjamin and WWE Diva Candice Michelle sharing their highly refined political wisdom at the Democrats' convention in Denver with CBS slugger Katie Couric.
The grapplers are attending the confab, as WWE Superstars have for the past two national party conventions, as part of SmackdownYourVote!, a WWE campaign that encourages 18-30 year olds to vote in the coming election.
WWE Superstars Shawn Michaels, Mr. Kennedy and Diva Mickie James will attend next week’s Republican Convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul. So will Couric.
DID RATHER HAVE TO DO THIS? Counter puncher Katie Couric visits with WWE wrestlers Shelton Benjamin and Candice Michelle at the Dems' convention in Denver. The wrestlers were there in conjunction with WWE's Smackdown Your Vote! effort to encourage young voters. Couric looks absolutely thrilled with all this, doesn't she?
