Charter launched WealthTV in VA, NC and SC, offering its HDVOD programming throughout its footprint. —DISH has added HD local channels in Beaumont-Port Arthur, TX. — The successful launch last week of a DISH satellite will ostensibly allow the DBS provider to offer more than 100 HD channels before fall.—DirecTV and Verizon have joined AT&T in partnering with NBCU to offer Olympic Games coverage on various platforms. DirecTV has added related programming to its new VOD service, and will roll out 10 features/week (SD and HD) through the Games' completion. Verizon will spotlight the Games across FiOS TV on demand, broadband and wireless. The telco has also agreed to launch Bravo HD, CNBC+ HD, USA HD and Universal HD, the latter 2 dedicated to covering Olympic basketball and soccer.
