Cable Mavericks On Campus
Caserta and Cable at College
Cable Mavericks, The Cable Center's effort to educate America's youth about cable's past and present, not to mention its career possibilities, has headed to colleges again this fall.
A Maverick session in October at St John's University in Queens, NY, featured Nick Davatzes, the AETN CEO Emeritus, and AETN SVP Bill Harris, who heads the network's production services and broadcast operations. While the Maverick lecturers are often older or even semi-retired cable personnel, like Davatzes, students at Hunter College in NY City in September learned at the feet of one of the youngest Mavericks, IFC's new GM Jennifer Caserta. Considering the creative and out-of-the-box marketing that Caserta has championed at IFC and Court TV before that, she certainly qualifies as a Maverick.
YOUNG MAVERICK: The Cable Mavericks series begins its fall semester Sept 25 with Jennifer Caserta, EVP and GM of IFC, speaking at Hunter College in New York. To her left is Matt Singer, an IFC online personality.
