Protecting Kids—Lawmakers Talk Online Ads, Violence in Media & Sandy Hook
The timing of Wed’s COPPA news conference was coincidental, but the tragedy in Newtown, CT, was referenced several times as politicians talked about FTC updates to the law protecting children from online advertising. Meanwhile Sen Commerce chmn Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) introduced a bill to study the effect of violent video games and video programming on children, calling on the FTC and FCC to expand their work in the area.
