Comings & Goings

Marc Buhaj was upped to svp, programming and gm of Disney XD. His last post at the company was svp, international original series and co-productions, Disney Television Animation. Buhaj moved into the role from after David Levine shifted to vp, programming, production and strategic development for Disney Channels Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In the new role Buhaj will head up the channel’s growth and strategic direction, including multiplatform programing and scheduling, and assist the programming team with identifying acquisitions and co-productions. He also served as svp, original programming, Disney Channels EMEA and joined the company in 2007 as svp, programming, Jetix Europe. Other roles include vp, programming and scheduling for Cartoon Network and Boomerang in the U.S. as well as executive director, programming and acquisitions, Turner Entertainment Networks Asia. Marc tells us he’s a massive sports fan and consistently follows the trials and tribulations of his teams—the Queen Park Rangers in the English Premier League and the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA. Also, he also enjoys playing basketball with his 9-year-old son Jakson.
Mark Marshall and Cherie Cohen
NBCU has restructured its ad sales leadership. Mark Marshall will join the organization in January as svp, portfolio sales and will oversee sales for the Chicago and Detroit offices. Meanwhile, Cherie Cohen will add growing cross-portfolio revenue on the west coast to her responsibilities as svp, portfolio sales. Marshall comes from Turner, where he worked in the ad sales department since 1999. His most recent role at Turner was svp and national sales manager for Turner Sports ad sales. Other roles at Turner: vp and national sales manager for Turner Sports and vp, Turner Sports ad sales west coast region. Mark, we learned, golfs frequently, has a 9-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter, and made the surprising decision to move from Los Angeles to Chicago.
Cherie Cohen’s last position was svp, cable advertising sales. She joined NBCU in 2013 from ESPN, where she was vp, multimedia sales. Before that she was a television account executive at Court TV and also worked at TeleVest, DMB&B. Cherie tells us she was in a band in college, and was the catcher on her championship high school softball team.
Bill Bergmann Janet Dickinson Joe Zamora
Bill Bergmann, Janet Dickinson and Joe Zamora received promotions at Starz. Bergmann was upped to svp, finance and planning. He’s been at the company for 15 years and most recently held the vp role. Before joining Starz he owned and operated several restaurants in upstate New York. Zamora ascends to the vp, finance role, having most recently served as executive director, finance and planning. Also a 15-year vet of the company, Zamora worked with GE Capital before landing at Starz. Lastly, Janet Dickinson is now svp, finance and accounting, up from the vp role. She joined the company six years prior and before that held senior accounting and finance management roles at Adelphia Communications and AT&T Broadband. Janet tells us she’s really into hockey and enjoys reading a good book on the beach, the last being Zero Day by David Baldacci.
Marco Bresaz has joined AMC as vp, unscripted programming. He comes from Sundance Channel, where he was vp, original programing and development. His responsibilities include identifying and developing compelling unscripted shows for the net. At Sundance, Bresaz developed “Push Girls,” “Dream School” and “The Writer’s Room.” Before joining AMCN he was held senior roles in programming and development at TV Land, Spike TV and ABC Daytime.
