One Thing Obama Won't Change

Could C-SPAN Bring Obama Votes?

The C-SPAN staff got a thrill this week when a photo (below) was released showing presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) watching the Democrats’ convention from a home in Montana Tuesday night. The TV set in the picture is tuned to, yes, C-SPAN, cable’s gift to America, which had not previously been revealed to be among Obama's favorites

Commenting on the photo, C-SPAN VP Peter Kiley notes, “Now you know what network you all should tune in [for convention and election coverage]. And remember to visit our Convention Hub websites.

Early estimates about the number of votes Obama will gain when word spreads among political junkies that he watches C-SPAN were inconclusive, the Obama camp said. That Obama appears to be laughing at the picture of Sen Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) on the television screen was purely coincidental, Clinton supporters said. The Obama camp had no comment.

NO CHANGE: Right after this picture was snapped of Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) watching the Democrats’ convention on C-SPAN, it was reported that aides to the presidential hopeful, who felt they were being true to the major theme of his campaign, urged him to change. The channel, that is. “Change is a priority for this country,” Obama is reported to have told the aides while continuing to watch C-SPAN. “But C-SPAN’s coverage is so thorough, it supersedes us having to make any change here." Obama added, "When change is not necessary, it’s necessary not to change.” Cable360.net was unable to verify the veracity of that quote. Indeed, the entire incident was denied by several cable news networks, but we were unable to verify those denials.
