Time Warner Cable’s Joan Gillman, on Interactive TV

Joan Gillman, President of Media Sales, Time Warner Cable Media said at the TV of Tomorrow NYC Intensive this week that as connected devices within the home continue to grow at a rapid rate, 3 things will evolve: the way services are packaged for consumers, the opportunity for cable to solve the issue of multiple vendors across those devices in the home and lastly, the competition to deliver services—it will most definitely be fierce. It’s all about time, she said. “There are only so many hours in the day. [And] consumers are going to be able to have more options.”

 

Moreover, she said, today’s interactive TV has achieved scale. The campaigns that are truly integrating active engagement with creative—and actually adapting it when something has ceased to work—will be the most successful.
