Ohio-based co-op telco Arthur Mutual Telephone Company is using ADTRAN gear to power its next-gen Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network. It’s now providing service via an upgraded network with ultra-high speed broadband over fiber through a Rural Utilities Service (RUS) loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The telco’s central office equipment and remote terminals will be interconnected through a 10 Gbps ERPS ring where, if congested, Arthur can easily expand to multiple 10 Gbps links over existing fiber using ADTRAN’s Optical Networking Edge (ONE) solution…Integrated Device Technology Inc. (IDT) and Qualcomm collaborated to enable IDT’s development of an integrated circuit (IC) for consumer electronics devices based on Qualcomm’s WiPower Technology, meeting the requirements of Qualcomm’s new near-field magnetic resonance wireless power charging solution designed to provide spatial freedom for charging such consumer electronics as mobile phones and other battery-powered/low-power direct-charge devices. WiPower technology uses resonant wireless energy transfer to help reduce the number of device chargers, power strips and wall outlets to perform wireless charging; instead, a power pad blends into the environment.
