The Open Visual Communications Consortium says the first wave of OVCC-compliant enterprise video services are now available from OVCC members AT&T, BCS Global, Airtel Business, BT, Glowpoint and Orange Business Services. According to the group, enterprise users now can collaborate visually with more people. Additionally, OVCC members AT&T, Airtel Business, Masergy and Orange Business Services developed the OVCC-compliant interconnect network that supports the new interoperable video services available to enterprise users. In related OVCC news, Polycom Inc.’s RealPresence Platform will be part of the underlying infrastructure that powers six out of the seven service providers offering OVCC-compliant, cloud-delivered video collaboration services. The platform reportedly provides the carrier-grade video infrastructure needed for these new services, delivering scalability, security, interoperability, reliability and manageability…savvisdirect, a cloud-computing business solution now being offered by CenturyLink in the United States, can be used for businesses of all sizes. The savvisdirect Web portal provides access to Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications, on-demand virtual servers, storage services and application-development platforms. Enterasys IdentiFi encompasses access points, controllers and management software; and it addresses such critical industry requirements as scalability, visibility, security and application performance. New offerings include an enhanced sales incentive program that provides additional opportunity through as much as 300-percent higher potential payout on new sales, a new partner reward program that provides benefits through a mix of back-end rebates (BER) and marketing development funds (MDF) to all partners and distributors and doubled investment in co-marketing and demand generation through new WLAN marketing programs and additional personnel…A trio of turnkey solutions from Broadcom helps OEMs expedite production of 3G smartphones while lowering development costs. As such, “the solutions are optimized to provide native support for the rich and immersive experience of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the Android 4.1/4.2 Jelly Bean operating systems (OSs),” Broadcom literature says. “Powerful graphics and application processing capabilities enable OEMs to deliver a high-end multimedia experience in an entry-level device, while integration with Broadcom’s rich suite of wireless connectivity technologies, including Miracast and NFC, ensures consumers can take advantage of today’s most innovative applications”…Chicago-based Infinite Convergence Solutions, a carrier-grade, next-gen, mobility-technology provider, today launched its Enterprise Messaging Service (EMS), a cloud-based messaging service “specifically designed for enterprises to securely exchange information with customers, employees and business partners globally.” Features include global reach, delivery assurance and end-to-end secure delivery as well as a user-friendly Web portal, campaign manager, opt-in/opt-out capabilities and messaging analytics…The Aruba 7200 Series with new Aruba Networks AppRF technology “is the only wireless LAN platform with the integrated application intelligence and controls to optimize application delivery,” the company says. The Aruba AppRF software, which runs on the 7200 mobility controller, uses Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) for Layer 7 insight to identify application traffic. Then, using Airtime Fairness, QoS and integrated control of RF characteristics on the access points, the controller optimizes over-the-air performance for each application type and user profile.
