DesignArt Announces WiMAX Chips

DesignArt Networks unveiled its DAN2200 WiMAX femtocell SoC at WiMAX World 2008. A single-chip femtocell SoC, the DAN2200 is designed to allow equipment vendors to go below the unit price barrier of $100. It is certified for IEEE 802.16e Wave 2 and is designed to deliver non-blocking WiMAX performance for up to 25 simultaneous subscribers.

In other DesignArt news, the company has delivered its open WiMAX SoC platform, the DAN2400, to the market. Available reference designs are based on DesignArt's glue-less single-chip SoC architecture, with targeted variants available for femto-, pico-, and micro cells, as well as BTS sector designs.
