JDSU Adds E-1/Datacom to Handheld Testers

JDSU today announced the SmartClass E-1/Datacom, a handheld tester for the installation and commissioning of E-1 and datacom circuits and network elements used extensively worldwide for information and data transfer from one location to another. It features a large, easy-to-read color screen and auto configuration feature.

Key features of the tester include interoperability with PC software and a user interface that is available in multiple languages. Included with each are dual E-1 ports for bidirectional monitoring and troubleshooting of E-1 links and a datacom port with a variety of optional test cables. It offers advanced test applications including MFC-R2 signaling test, VT-100 terminal emulation and remote control of the unit using a command line interface.
