Research: HD on the Rise
One-third of US homes now own an HDTV, and cable/satellite subs will penetrate 65.7% of multichannel households by '12, up from 18.8% last year, according to SNL Kagan. 74 high-def nets have launched since '03, said the firm, which tracked 25 of these nets to find $49mln in gross ad rev for the group in '07. Kagan expects the latter number to grow to $422mln by '12, while overall HD nets' rev is expected to tally nearly $2bln by the same year.
