Leap Wireless International, the parent company of Cricket Communications, will significantly expand its existing Texas calling area by offering its Cricket unlimited wireless services in Beaumont, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Laredo and McAllen beginning tomorrow. These markets cover approximately 2.4 million potential customers, bringing Cricket's national covered POPs to approximately 57 million.
Beginning tomorrow, Cricket service will be available through a total of 100 points of distribution in the region including 10 Cricket retail stores, 37 exclusive dealers and 53 indirect dealers. Cricket's Texas coverage area now spans approximately 25,700-square miles. In addition to the new coverage areas, Cricket service is currently available to Texas residents in Houston, Bryan/College Station, Temple/Killeen, Austin, San Antonio and El Paso.
